Erasmus+ AI in education courses for teachers

Six days of hands-on work with AI applied to teaching, run as workshops, with material you take home ready to use.

Digital transformation is one of the horizontal priorities of the Erasmus+ programme, and artificial intelligence is currently the part of it that raises most doubts in staff rooms. Not for lack of tools, but for lack of criteria: what to delegate, what not to, and how to justify the decision to families and inspectors.

This structured Erasmus+ KA1 course addresses exactly that. Six days of workshops in small groups, with an attendance certificate and Europass documentation, fundable through your school KA1 grant.

What the week covers

  • Producing materials. How to write instructions that yield usable resources rather than generic ones, and how to adapt them to different levels within the same class without doubling your workload.
  • Assessment and feedback. Generating rubrics, giving feedback more often, and recognising the moments where automated marking degrades learning instead of accelerating it.
  • Academic honesty. What AI-text detectors do and do not catch, why their false-positive rate makes them dangerous as evidence, and how to redesign tasks so the question stops mattering.
  • Privacy and the legal frame. Which pupil data must never leave the school, how GDPR applies, and what obligations the EU AI Act introduces for educational uses.
  • Judgement of your own. The aim is not to learn one specific tool — they change every semester — but to leave with criteria that outlive the tool.

Who it is for

Teachers of any subject and any stage, and school leaders or digital coordinators who have to set a whole-school policy. No prior technical knowledge is needed: the course starts from zero and moves fast because the work is on real classroom cases rather than on theory.

It works particularly well when two or three staff from the same school travel together: they come back with one shared position instead of three different opinions.

How it is funded

Like any structured KA1 course: fees are covered up to €80 per participant per day, capped at €800 per participant and activity, plus travel and subsistence at programme rates. If your school is accredited (KA121) it comes from the annual plan; if not, through a KA122 project. Full detail in Erasmus+ courses in Spain.

Where it takes place

In Jerez de la Frontera, province of Cádiz, Andalusia. Mornings are academic; afternoons make up the cultural programme, which is part of the intercultural competence Erasmus+ sets as an objective of staff mobility.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need prior knowledge of artificial intelligence?

No. The course starts from zero. What is worth bringing is your own material — a unit plan, a test, a rubric — because we work on each participant real cases.

Which tools are used?

We work with several general-purpose and education-specific tools, but the course is not tied to any of them: the goal is judgement, because the specific tools change every few months.

Is it compatible with GDPR and the EU AI Act?

That is one of the blocks of the course. We cover which pupil data must not leave the school, which uses are classified as high risk under the European framework, and how to document the decisions your school takes.

Do I take away material ready to use?

Yes. The format is a workshop: whatever you produce during the week leaves with you, adapted to your subject and level.

Is the course delivered in English?

There are editions in English and in Spanish. The language of instruction is stated clearly on each edition.

Does it count towards my KA1 project report?

Yes. You receive an attendance certificate with hours and content, plus the Europass documentation your National Agency asks for in the final report.
