Erasmus+ courses in the province of Cádiz

Six-day KA1 training in Jerez de la Frontera: a certified academic programme, an international airport of its own, and a province you can cover in a single week.

The province of Cádiz is the south-western tip of continental Europe: forty-four municipalities between the Atlantic and the mountains, with Jerez de la Frontera as its largest city and the base for EuryGo’s Erasmus+ KA1 courses.

For a staff mobility it combines things that rarely come together: its own international airport, short distances, moderate prices, and a cultural identity — sherry, horses, flamenco, carnival — that turns the afternoon programme into something participants actually remember.

Why Cádiz rather than a more crowded destination

  • You fly straight in. Jerez airport (XRY) handles international flights and sits ten minutes from the centre. Seville (SVQ) is just over an hour away by train or coach, Málaga (AGP) around two.
  • Everything is close. Jerez, Cádiz city, El Puerto de Santa María and Sanlúcar de Barrameda are all within forty minutes of each other. You cover the province without complicated logistics.
  • No tourist saturation. Unlike other Mediterranean Erasmus+ destinations, a group of European teachers is still genuinely welcome here, and the treatment is personal rather than industrial.
  • A budget that adds up. Accommodation and meals sit below the Spanish average, so the programme rates cover the stay with room to spare.
  • European history at first hand. Cádiz is the oldest continuously inhabited city in western Europe and the birthplace of the 1812 Constitution, Spain’s first liberal constitution. For history, citizenship or social science teachers it is primary material.

The province as a classroom: what the week includes

The cultural programme is built on what the province genuinely offers, not on a generic tour:

  • The sherry bodegas of the Marco de Jerez. A maturation system found nowhere else, with centuries of trade with northern Europe behind it — sherry has been shipped to England and the Netherlands since the sixteenth century.
  • The Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art. An official institution devoted to classical dressage and the Cartujano horse.
  • Flamenco in the tabancos. Jerez is one of the birthplaces of cante — heard in neighbourhood tabancos, not in a tourist tablao.
  • The old town and the Alcázar. An Almohad street plan, the cathedral, and a city you can cross entirely on foot.

Certified training, not tourism with a certificate

Worth stating plainly: the core of the course is academic. Six days of work on the Spanish education system, artificial intelligence in the classroom or active methodologies, delivered as workshops, with material each participant takes home ready to use.

The cultural programme exists because intercultural competence is an explicit objective of Erasmus+ staff mobility, not as filler. At the end you receive an attendance certificate with hours and content, plus Europass documentation. Each programme is detailed in the course catalogue.

Frequently asked questions

Which city in the province of Cadiz are the courses held in?

Mostly in Jerez de la Frontera, the largest city in the province and the one with its own international airport (XRY), ten minutes from the centre. Some courses run in Sanlucar de Barrameda, twenty-five minutes away on the coast. Each course page states its venue.

How do I get to Cadiz from Europe?

Fly direct to Jerez (XRY) where your country has a connection, or into Seville (SVQ) or Malaga (AGP), which receive flights from across Europe. From Seville there are direct trains and coaches to Jerez in just over an hour.

Can we visit Cadiz city during the course?

Cadiz is about forty minutes from Jerez by train. Many participants visit in their free time at the weekend; where it forms part of the programme, it is stated on the course page.

What budget does the school need per participant?

The KA1 grant comes in four lines — course fees, travel, individual support and organisational support — calculated separately and designed to cover the mobility as a whole. Tell us the sending town and the number of participants and we will run the figures against your National Agency current rates.

Are the courses delivered in English?

There are programmes in English and programmes in Spanish. Each course page states the language of instruction clearly.
