Erasmus+ courses in Andalusia for teachers

Six-day KA1 programmes in southern Spain: certified training, small groups and genuine cultural immersion in Andalusia.

Andalusia hosts a large share of the Erasmus+ KA1 courses that take place in Spain, and not by accident. It is the country’s most populous region, with eight provinces, three international airports and a climate that allows mobilities almost all year round.

This is where EuryGo runs its teacher training programmes: six days of academic work in small groups, with an attendance certificate and Europass documentation, fundable through your school KA1 grant.

What Andalusia brings to an Erasmus+ mobility

Many coordinators come to Andalusia for the sunshine and stay for more prosaic reasons: the logistics work and the group comes back happy. These are the factors that weigh most:

  • Climate and calendar. Conditions are stable from February to November, which gives you room to fit the mobility into the school calendar without gambling on the weather — far from trivial for groups travelling from northern Europe.
  • Three ways in. Seville (SVQ) and Málaga (AGP) receive flights from across Europe, and Jerez (XRY) has its own international airport with direct connections to several countries. The combination lets you optimise price and timings for the group.
  • Cost per participant. Accommodation and meals cost considerably less than in European capitals, so the programme rates cover the stay comfortably.
  • Cultural density. The Alhambra, the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba, the Royal Alcázar, the white villages, flamenco, horses, sherry. There is no need to manufacture a cultural programme — it is already there.
  • Human scale. Outside the big capitals, groups walk everywhere, eat together and share the city with its residents. The intercultural experience is far more real than in an airport hotel.

The Andalusian education system as a case study

In Spain, education is devolved to the autonomous regions, and Andalusia runs the largest network of state schools in the country. For a European teacher that makes the region a genuinely interesting case study: how a national curriculum is deployed across a vast, uneven territory, what role bilingual programmes play, how inclusion is organised, or how far dual vocational training has come.

Our courses handle this from practice, not as an institutional presentation: what it means day to day in a classroom, and what is transferable to each participant’s own system.

Where exactly: the province of Cádiz

Within Andalusia, our programmes run in the province of Cádiz, based in Jerez de la Frontera and, for some courses, in Sanlúcar de Barrameda. A considered choice: Jerez is exactly the right size for a group to walk everywhere all week, it has its own airport, and it carries a very distinct cultural identity — sherry, horses and flamenco — that gives the afternoon programme real content.

If you are comparing destinations across the country, Erasmus+ courses in Spain gives you the wider picture.

When to schedule the mobility

Our practical recommendation, in order of preference:

  • Spring (March to June). The best window: mild temperatures, long days and the cultural calendar at its peak.
  • Autumn (September to November). Equally comfortable, with the grape harvest and the start of the Spanish school year as added context.
  • Winter (February). Perfectly workable, with lower prices and cities free of tourists.
  • July and August. We avoid them. The heat constrains the programme too much and much of local life is on holiday.

Frequently asked questions

Which city in Andalusia are the courses held in?

Mostly in Jerez de la Frontera, in the province of Cadiz, which has its own international airport (XRY) and is just over an hour from Seville and around two from Malaga. Some courses run in Sanlucar de Barrameda, on the coast twenty-five minutes from Jerez. Each course page states its venue.

What is the best time of year to come?

Spring and autumn. March to June and September to November offer ideal conditions. We avoid scheduling editions in July and August because of the heat.

Do we need to hire transport for the group?

No. The programme is designed to be done on foot within the city. Any occasional trip outside Jerez is organised as part of the course itself.

Can we combine the course with visits to other Andalusian cities?

Yes. Many groups add a weekend in Seville, Cadiz or Ronda before or after the course. We help you fit it around the dates and the eligibility rules of the programme.

Is the course recognised for KA1 reporting?

Yes. You receive an attendance certificate with hours and content, plus Europass documentation, which is what the National Agency requires in the final report.
